Responding to Hunger and Poverty Throughout the World
Offered by: ELCA World Hunger Program
The World Hunger Program is the way the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) addresses chronic hunger and poverty around the world and here in the United States.
The World Hunger Program has four methods of carrying out its work: providing immediate relief for people in need; providing the means for long-term, sustainable development for whole communities; advocating for justice; and educating members of the ELCA in awareness of issues relating to hunger, poverty, and justice.
LifeLines is their newsletter, published four times per year. Each easy-to-read issue features examples of ELCA-supported relief and development work around the world, as well as articles on advocacy, environmental stewardship, planned giving, and new resources.
